American Icon Day - Sunday 29th June 2014

It was hard getting out of bed on a cold morning, but on arriving at the Jindalee Tavern just after 8am and witnessing a car park full of Corvettes(18), Harleys and 3 Mustangs, the thought of not being able to sleep-in disappeared.

Six veterans from  Enoggera Barracks also attended, and were able to enjoy a ride in a Corvette.  The convoy proceeded uneventfully with a first stop at Fernvale.

Next stop was for morning tea at Harlin State School and we were not disappointed to be given a smorgasbord of food that could have easily been LUNCH!  A white C3 did not make it to this stop.  Electrical problems, I think.  Further on down the track, another C3 had brake seizure problems.  A quick stop in Kilcoy to refuel the thirsty oldies and then a brief stop at Woodford.  From Woodford to Samford is a very enjoyable run----that is if you enjoy good winding roads!

The run finished at Nevís Farm where Nev excelled himself again with a wonderful set-up of Tents, Food and Music.  Thanks goes to Jim Beliveau, Ann and Family for providing entertainment.  Harlin State School thanked us for assisting in their Fund Raising and profits from the BBQ will be donated to the Jane McGrath Foundation.

Special thanks to Brad & Nicky for sharing their photos of the event.
