Bridges and Tunnels Run - 15th March 2014
   Brisbane City

11 corvettes ranging from C2s to C6s with 19 people on board left Ross St Newstead on a warm evening heading on journey which most of them will have a memory of for quite a while, with 5 pages of directions in hand & trying to count every bridge & tunnel the passengers were busier than fly at a bushmans’  picnic, but all went well, traffic was heavier than when we laid the run out, but everybody kept up and doubled up where required & with the help of the two way radios we were able to not lose anyone for most the run.

Through the Valley, across the Story Bridge onto the S.E. Freeway a quick loop past the P.A. hospital back onto the Capt Cook bridge past Suncorp onto the inner city bypass down to Eagle Farm into the industrial estate which was abandoned so we were able to open up the Vettes with safety, after a little play we headed out past the old airport over the new airport bridge on through Nundah doing another loop around onto Nudgee Roa., back onto the I.C.B. exiting at the Normanby in through North Quay, across Melbourne St., Bridge a casual drive through West End & back onto Grey Street, Bridge past the XXXX brewery on to the Centenary Highway exiting @ Moggil Road, cutting through the back streets of Indooroopilly & onto the Walter Taylor Bridge as we swept back under the bridge a RBT had been set up & I think the site of it rattled a few as this was where we got broken up but a quick read of the instructions soon had everybody back together, except for Chris & Passenger who had to be home early, a regroup @ the Rocklea Markets saw us all together again, & off to the club for Dinner via Mt Gravatt.

Our hosts John, Lisa & the Chef laid out a magnificent smorgasboard for the remaining 15 as we lost 2 more for dinner because of previous engagements.

The question was asked how many B & T were there & Bill Dixon piped up 108 (the correct answer) I thought hang on Bill was in the car by himself got lost @ Indooroopilly, & after a bit of investigation I found that Bill may be old but his hearing is fine as he had overheard Denise & Carol talking from the week before. So Bill was disqualified,  leaving Keith Hosking & co pilot the winners @ 99 the closet to the correct answer.

Fun was had by all with much laughter over dinner, Thank You to all who took the time to participate, I know I had a great time & hope you all learnt a little about the beautiful city we live in, I would personally like to Thank John our host @ the Club for the meal & the room set up he done for us, it was really great, to Kev, Denise & Carol for their help in getting this run set up & getting it to the end.

A few more numbers would have made it even more exciting!!
