 Australia Day 26 January 2017
Ormiston High School - Redland Bay Hotel

This particular Car Rally has been hosted by the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club for many years and usually attracts 500+ vintage and classic cars. Today was no exception and there was not much grass to see as the school oval was full. No rain this year--only high heat and humidity. What a wonderful idea --the show ends at 10.00am. Our club would like to thank the BVRC committee and volunteers who ensured the whole event ran smoothly. The usual process for participants is to arrive early, park and enjoy the next 3 hours looking at a huge variety of cars (and trucks) . 26 Corvettes presented a problem as we all wanted to park together. The organisers made it easy for this to happen. I have been to this event for many years now and i think today we may have topped any previous numbers for the QCC. It was great to see some NEW members attending. Lunch at the Redland Bay Tavern was the follow-up event after the Show'n'Shine at Ormiston . I did not attend the lunch , but i believe there was a very good representation of QCC members here. Many thanks to Elaine for emails and follow up; and also to Craig as Trip leader. All cars travelled well--NO "on the Tow" awards today.
