 Cooly Rocks On
10/06/2017

True to Form , Cooly Rocks (formerly WinterSun ) turned out to be Cold , Wet and Windy--this is normal for this annual event held at Coolangatta.
Luckily the Parade at 9.30am was fine throughout the 1 hour event. Our club (QCC) volounteered to put 5 Corvettes in the parade--see photos.
Thanks to our members for promoting our Club. There were not as many Corvettes on display this year,
but the many and varied vehicles made for a top Classic car event--possibly the biggest in Australia.
Our Club display of 5 Corvettes proved very popular with the public and many hundreds of photos were taken.
We also spoke to many "future" club members who showed a lot of interest. Thanks to Alan W , Jim, Gordon ,Mike and Alan for showing off our chrome bumper machines.
One of our members , Peter Van Roy was also on stage several times playing Rock N Roll.

After much organizing and having several members keen to be a part of the parade then dropping out,
we ended up with 5 cars to represent our club and participate in this yearís parade.
Meeting at the H
yperdome at 6.30am on a Sunday wasnít my cup of tea, with rain looming we headed down to Coolangatta  to the starting point.
With the organizers changing the starting point this year we got a little lost. We finally found our way arriving at 7.30am
to be told we donít need to be ready until 10am . Why did we leave so early Doug.
Getting the cars ready the girls went down the road and came back with breakfast.
The parade went well the rain held off, with much cheering from the crowd and Webro in his usual form squirting people with his water pistol all went well.
Thanks to Jayne & Val for walking with the club banner and to those that attended.
