 Mt Cotton Nursery Cafe dinner
28 October 2017

Harrigan's Hot Rod show is an annual event every October--too many cars to count, but a Top show if you like to see hundreds of Fabulous vehicles in all shapes and sizes.

3 of us met at McDonalds Loganholme and set off at 7.30am for Calypso Bay. A great drive through the winding roads (cane fields) led us to Harrigans Hotel where the event was staged.

No waiting in a long queue this year !  Several Hundred did NOT come this year--the event was put back 2 weeks due to heavy rain,

and I think a lot of people had other arrangements. The previous night saw 15 Corvettes attend the night cruise and dinner,

so today's attendance was less than half of previous years--only 11 Corvettes this time.

The venue is great--the boat harbour--Irish Pub and sea breezes made for a very pleasant day.

A few members visited us during the day--it was great to see them!

In the past the organisers used to insist on NO cars leaving before 3pm ( when the public pay$5 entry, they expect to see a good range)

I think the rule was relaxed this year--maybe something to do with the VERY HOT day ! People were leaving even at 11am, and by 1pm several hundred cars had left.

The entry fee was $15 , and for an extra $5 you could enter your car to be judged. Bob Mihill won "Best Modern Car of the Show--runner Up. Bob also received $50 cash. See you Next Year.
