Australia Day Car Show

19 Corvettes gathered at the Springwood Hotel carpark on Sunday, January 26th, 2025, for the Australia Day run.

From there, we proceeded to Ormiston State School, arriving at 7:00 AM. A special shoutout goes to Gordon and Mike R, who arrived early at 5:30 AM to secure our favorite spot under the trees.

Entry to the event was complimentary, and "The Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club" once again upheld their long-standing tradition by offering a free breakfast until 9:00 AM.

They have been hosting this wonderful gathering for over 30 years on every Australia Day. The school grounds were a spectacular sight, with 28 Corvettes showcased in one area and several more scattered throughout.

While I didn’t do an official count, the total number of vehicles seemed consistent with the usual turnout of around 750. The weather, though humid, was cooler than in previous years. By 10:30 AM, many vehicles began departing for other commitments.

Members from our group continued to the Mustang Club at Morningside for a BBQ lunch. It was an incredible day overall, and heartfelt thanks go to Stephen Ellis for organizing the run. We also deeply appreciate the Mustang Club for their hospitality and for inviting us to their clubhouse for lunch a collaboration that we look forward to continuing in the future.
